Chaunith — Terms of Service

Chaunith operates the platform at chaunith.com (the "Platform"). Chaunith is a technology platform connecting passengers ("Riders") with independent professional chauffeur businesses ("Chauffeur Partners"); it is NOT a transportation carrier and does not own vehicles or employ drivers — transportation is provided solely by independent Chauffeur Partners.

Users must be 18+, provide accurate info, and keep credentials secure; Chauffeur Partners must hold all required licenses, permits, inspections, and insurance.

A booking is not confirmed until the assigned Chauffeur Partner accepts it; fare quotes are estimates and may vary with route, time, tolls, and surcharges; Chauffeur Partners set their own rates and policies.

Payments are processed by Stripe; if a Chauffeur Partner requires a deposit, the Rider pays it after acceptance (saving the card for the balance), and the remaining balance is auto-charged when the ride is marked completed. Chaunith retains a 10% platform service fee; the remainder is paid out to the Chauffeur Partner via Stripe Connect (Partners accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and are responsible for their own taxes).

A Rider may cancel while a booking is "requested" or "accepted" (not after en route/completed); an eligible cancellation refunds the deposit including reversal of the platform fee.

Messaging is for coordinating bookings and must be lawful and respectful.

Prohibited: breaking the law, false info, disrupting the Platform, accessing unauthorized data, circumventing fees, harassment.

The Platform relies on Stripe and Google Maps.

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES; Chaunith does not warrant the transportation or any user's conduct and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — total liability will not exceed the greater of the platform service fees paid to Chaunith in the prior three months or US$100.

Users indemnify Chaunith for claims arising from their use, breach, or (for Partners) the transportation they provide.

The Chaunith name, logo, and software are owned by Chaunith; Partners retain their own branding and license it to Chaunith to operate the Platform.

Either party may terminate; survival applies to payment, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification.

Governed by the laws of Louisiana; disputes brought exclusively in Louisiana state or federal courts.

Terms may be updated with an updated effective date.
